Late ‘Star Trek’ actor Anton Yelchin did not have will, parents sue Chrysler

Star Trek Beyond star Anton Yelchin did not have a will at the time of his death last June.

According to TMZ, the actor died without a will in place and on Monday, Aug. 1, his parents, Victor and Irina Yelchin, filed docs requesting to be the administrators of his estate. Their son’s estate is estimated to be worth around $1.4 million.

The Yelchin’s attorneys confirmed that the family also filed court docs to sue Fiat Chrysler.

On June 19, the 27-year-old Anton died after being crushed between his Jeep and a brick mailbox pillar in the driveway of his home. The accident was believed to be caused by faulty gear shifters on the vehicle which had been recalled. Jeep Grand Cherokees, like the one Yelchin owned, were part of a global recall of about 1.1 million vehicles by Fiat Chrysler last April.
