Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Deon Long was cut by the Los Angeles Rams earlier this summer and we now know why.

The reason was revealed in the Aug. 9 episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks. In the episode Rams coach Jeff Fisher tells Long that he’s being cut for violating team rules after he brought a woman into his training camp dorm room, according to ESPN. Long said that the woman was there before curfew and he didn’t plan to have her stay. However, Fisher still cut him for violating the team rules.

"What part of the rules, what part of 'no female guests in the room,' did you not understand?" Fisher asked the athlete in a meeting that was shown in the episode. "Sorry, but this is our world, man. We have rules and we have to abide by them. Not the first time I've done this for this particular violation, but I thought I made myself really clear."

After the meeting coach Fisher informed the team that Long had been cut.

"I'm not f***ing going 7-9 or 8-8 or 9-7 ... we have too much talent here for that," Fisher told his players.  "We had some 7-9 bulls*** this morning and we can't have that. Deon is gone. That is 7-9 bulls*** and we don't need it."

Long entered the NFL undrafted and was with the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins last year but never played. He signed with the Eagles on Friday, Aug. 5.

The Rams were 7-9 last year and finished third in the NFC West.
