Criminal Minds star Thomas Gibson allegedly got into a physical altercation with one of the show's writers and has been suspended from the television series.
TMZ first reported that Gibson, who plays Special Agent Aaron Hotchner on the CBS show, apparently got into an argument with one of the writers and things got pretty heated between them before turning physical and ending with the actor allegedly kicking that writer.
The writer is then said to have made calls to have CBS executives step in and decide what to do with Gibson. Ultimately they decided to suspend him although it is not known yet if it is for one, two or more episodes. Deadline noted that his character will be written out of the storyline for any episodes he will not be taping.
“There were creative differences on the set and a disagreement. I regret that it occurred,” Gibson said of the incident in a statement. “We all want to work together as a team to make the best show possible. We always have and we always will.”
The 54-year-old has been a staple on the show since it first premiered in 2005.
