Today marks the 20th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s untimely death.
Two decades ago, the world lost one of best lyricist in the game after Tupac was shot multiple times while sitting in a car at a traffic light on a Las Vegas street. He died at a hospital six days later. He was just 25 years old.
Ever since his death was announced on Sept. 13, 1996, questions and conspiracy theories surrounding whether or not he was actually dead never let up. Other big questions that were never answered were who shot the famous rapper and why? There are a few theories to those questions as well, but to this day no one has ever been charged with the murder.
Tupac’s case is one in which he may be gone but is certainly not forgotten.
His mother, Afeni Shakur Davis, worked hard for years to make sure his legacy didn’t die on that fateful September night. She passed away last May. However, her son’s memory always has and will continue to live on as he regarded as a true legend in rap music.
