Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim All-Star outfielder Mike Trout was involved in a serious crash after he left a home game on Wednesday evening.
CBS Los Angeles noted that California Highway Patrol officers said the crash happened around 9 p.m. local time on Aug. 31 at the 55 Freeway and McFadden Avenue. Reports indicate that Trout tried to brake in an effort to avoid another highway crash and ended up colliding with two other cars.
The baseball star was not injured, however, two people were taken to the hospital including one woman who had to be cut out of a vehicle.
Following the accident, Angels general manager Billy Eppler tweeted that Trout was okay and would be traveling with the team on Thursday.
“Mike Trout was involved in an accident earlier tonight. I have spoken with Mike this evening and he feels fine," Eppler wrote. "He is at home with his roommate and is planning on traveling with the club to Seattle tomorrow."
So far no charges have been filed and the exact cause of the crash is still being investigated.
