Speculation about what could have caused Angelina Jolie to file for divorce from Brad Pitt earlier this week has flooded the internet and now a very serious accusation has come to light.
TMZ reported that Pitt, who shares six children with Jolie, is being investigated by the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services for allegedly being physically and verbally abusive to their kids.
The media outlet noted that the alleged incident in which Pitt is said to have been drinking, took place last Wednesday, Sept. 14, on the couple's private plane and that the actor was allegedly abusive to at least one of the children. The situation was then reported to DCFS by an anonymous person.
A source close to Pitt did not deny that an investigation is ongoing, but had this to say in his defense, “He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children. It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”
Since news of their separation broke, accusations from Pitt having an alcohol problem to him sleeping with his Allied co-star, Marion Cotillard, have been made. However, Pitt and Jolie did make it clear that their split had nothing to do with any "third person."
