TheCelebrityCafe.com's Christopher Cole spoke with Mario Lopez about Box Tops for Education and Saved by the Bell. In a relaxed, friendly voice, Lopez spoke with the same effervescence he showed on Extra and his various hosting gigs.

There are pencils, books, a blackboard and the iconic wraparound school desk. Seated at the desk in this classroom setting was a raven-haired male with dimples and a polo shirt. This person was not a kid during his first day of school. Instead it was Emmy-winning actor and television personality Mario Lopez during an interview.

Lopez partnered with General Mills and the Box Tops for Education Program to promote education and to, in his own words, “enlist the next generation” of kids to cut the box tops of cereal boxes and redeem them for cash needed for their schools.

Seated at the school desk, the Extra host looked like a picture-perfect dad grilling at a cookout. He had the authoritative stainless steel watch, silver wedding band and the biceps. Despite the kiddie artwork in the background, Lopez looked like the preppy golden boy in a high school movie.

During the interview, Lopez spoke of how his role as a dad of two influenced his decision to get involved with Box Tops for Education. By getting involved in Box Tops for Education, Lopez clearly wanted to encourage his daughter and son to be leaders and “the next generation.”
