Nick Gordon, the boyfriend of the late Bobby Kristina Brown, has been found "legally responsible" for her death.

WXIA in Atlanta has reported that Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford found Gordon, 26, guilty in the wrongful death civil case against him after he did not show up for court, for a second time, on Friday.

The wrongful death lawsuit against Gordon was filed in August 2015 and since he failed to appear twice for a court hearing the judge ruled that anything alleged by the plaintiff is admitted through omission. The suit against Gordon accuses him of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress towards Brown and transferring money from her account into his account without authorization.

“In court today, we finally finished a long journey for justice for Bobbi Kristina Brown,” an attorney for Brown's conservator said. “The court agrees with us, by striking Mr. Gordon’s answer that he is legally responsible for her death. The only thing left to prove is the value of her life. We intend to do that.”

Leolah Brown Muhammad, the aunt of Bobbi Kristina, spoke to reporters outside the courthouse soon after the judge's decision.

Brown was found unresponsive in the home she shared with Gordon in January 2015. She was then rushed to a hospital, put in a medically induced coma and taken off life support six months later. She was the only daughter of singer Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston.
