After a successful first season, Scream Queens premiered its second season on Tuesday, Sept. 20, with a flashback on an eerie Halloween night.
Dr. Mike (Jerry O'Connell) begrudgingly helps a dying patient from a Halloween party by wheeling the body into a swamp on Oct. 31, 1985. Unbeknownst to his pregnant sweetheart, the patient's costumed body gets left behind, but as all horror genres go, will he or won't he come back? DUN DUN DUN!
Come to present day in 2016, we meet the lovable Dr. Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis), who leads a hospital for the strange. Under her hospital, Dr. Cassidy Cascade (Taylor Lautner) and Dr. Brock Holt (John Stamos) bring the eye candy to their patients.
While Dr. Munsch makes it her mission to cure the incurable, she still thinks of the Chanels, the trio of girls who gained notoriety driving Munsch crazy when she was the dean.
With a new docuseries following the Chanels, the girls are back in the limelight against Dr. Munsch's wishes.
In a video shown in the courtroom, featuring Hester (Lea Michele), she claims double jeopardy on the gruesome murders, even though former security guard Denise Hemphill (Niecy Nash) says otherwise. The videotape comically shows the two arguing over Hester's misunderstanding of double jeopardy.
Despite wanting to put the Chanel scandal behind her, Dr. Munsch pays a visit to Zayday Williams (Keke Palmer), the former sorority girl who escaped the gruesome killings.
With a joint in hand (no joke), Munsch stands in front of a limo waiting for Zayday to coax her into joining the teaching hospital. As Zayday works three jobs to pay for med school, Munsch offers her an opportunity she cannot refuse. On Zayday's first day, she meets Dr. Cascade and Dr. Holt working their element. While Dr. Cascade thinks of himself as “female viagra,” Dr. Holt has a weird admiration with his hands, one of which is a hand transplant.
“How'd you lose it?” Zayday asks Dr. Holt.
“Super Bowl accident,” the surgeon immediately responds.
“You played in the Super Bowl?”
“Sorry, Super Bowl party accident,” Dr. Holt corrects himself.
The flashback shows Dr. Holt at the party washing dishes when the power goes out so guests assume. He drops his ring in the garbage disposal and reaches for it not knowing his friend had turned on the switch. Dr. Holt screams in horror as his hand gets eaten in a bloody mess through the garbage disposal.
After Dr. Holt relays his story and exits the room, Zayday pats Dr. Cascade's back only to realize the young doctor runs abnormally cold. Will Zayday find out that's a good thing or a bad thing?
While Zayday demands Dr. Munsch hire more female employees, we see the Chanels in the real world.
Chanel #3 (Billie Lourd), Chanel #5 (Abigal Breslin) and main Chanel (Emma Roberts) each obtained a communications degree because it was the easiest to get. However, their real calling is in medicine with main Chanel particularly fond of poking people to draw blood. She's really good at it, she claims.
As the Chanel squad laments about not having a password for HBO GO, guess who comes to save the day?
Munsch offers the girls jobs in her hospital and like Zayday, the Chanels accept, but is the bloodbath going to start before the patients even begin trickling in? With this cast, we betcha!

-What do you think the H tattoo signifies on Dr. Holt?
-Are you also wondering how many definitions of “ghosting” there is?
-What do you think of Kirstie Alley as Ingrid Marie Hoffel, the head nurse, overseeing the Chanels? (We personally love it!)
