Get ready gamers because your “Candy Crush” obsession is about to get even bigger. CBS announced a new live action game show will be broadcasted.
The network released a statement saying the series was created and will be executive produced by Matt Kunitz.
In the game show, two contestants will be tasked with using not only physical agility, but also their wits in working through interactive game boards to be crowned the winners. A host has not been announced as of yet.
Glenn Geller, the President of CBS Entertainment, said “We are huge fans of Candy Crush and, like so many others, we know the ‘rush’ of advancing to the next level of the game.”
CBS is working with Lionsgate Television and King “to adapt one of the world’s most popular and entertaining game franchises for television and make it available to its massive, passionate fan base who can watch and play along at home.”
Other executive producers include Russell Binder, Peter Levin, Sebastian Knutsson and Nicki Sheard, VP Brand at King.
According to the release, the game totals 18 million rounds played on average on a monthly basis.
There is no word yet on a premiere date.
