One of Disney’s most memorable films, Mulan, has found it’s way back into limelight after its first debut in 1998.

The heart warming film tells the story of a brave young Chinese girl whose father is called to serve in the Chinese military. Her father is very ill and disabled which causes Mulan to feel fearful for his life. Mulan steals her father’s armor and runs away from home to fight for her country in honor of him. A few years after its release, Disney came out with the sequel, Mulan 2, in 2005.

Since then, Disney has been low key about developing a new version of Mulan in live action 3D. The film will reportedly be released in November 2018. This version will also have a female protagonist and the studio plans on casting a Chinese actress to play the beloved lead role.

The plot will still be the same with the rise of Mulan during the Han Dynasty when this daughter of a legendary warrior impersonates her father to fight against a Hun invasion. But the twist is the new live-action film will be taking pieces from the poem of the legendary Han Mulan, with the 1998 Disney animated film that is widely familiar and creating a masterpiece.

These beautiful characters being portrayed by real life people on the big screen is giving new life to the characters and an interesting approach on telling the story of Mulan.
