This week on Gotham: Mad City: Look Into My Eyes...

Hypnotist Jervis Tech is performing at the club while Barbara, Tabitha and an audience observe. He is doing basic hypnosis exercises then goes to something more complex. He uses a male volunteer and hypnotizes him and allows him to climb a chair. Jervis proves that while hypnotized, he can control what people do. He whispers a phrase to the man before releasing him. It looks like Jervis has arrived in Gotham for the foreseeable future. He is very suspicious.

Bruce and Alfred are observing Bruce’s doppelgänger eating as if he has been starved. He tells them he goes by the name Five and that the only thing he can remember is waking up at Indian Hill. He tells Bruce he saw him on the roof with Selina and wanted to find him to find out more about him. Alfred clearly wants him gone, but Bruce insists that he stay so they can find out more about him.

Jim and Valerie are having the awkward next morning conversation. “That was fun!” she says to Jim before she leaves. Jim goes to GCPD to collect his bounty and Bullock tries to cut him off so he doesn’t see Leslie. Leslie spots him and they have quite the awkward catching up conversation. She is moving back to Gotham with her fiancé and is possibly returning to work at GCPD. Interesting reunion between those two.

Jervis calls the man he hypnotized from the show and repeats the same phrase to him. The man is hypnotized and Jervis arrives. Jervis has him kill his wife and tells him to bury her outside and then to kill himself. Jervis quickly acquired a new house. He is in Gotham to find his sister, Alice. We see Alice inside her apartment when her landlord comes in and attacks her. The landlord kisses her and he becomes infected and passes out.

The former Mayor Aubrey James is having a press conference talking about how he is going to resume the position of Mayor until they can have proper elections. Penguin interrupts him and says that he is going to run for Mayor. He demands they have an emergency election and that he will win. It seems Penguin is winning over the people. Penguin already has his campaign headquarters up and running. He is told that James wants to meet with him…alone.

Bruce is having a training session with Alfred when Five wanders down and Bruce suggests he box with Alfred. Five turns out to have great reflexes and we also discover he can’t feel pain. Alfred/Bruce notice the scar on the back of his neck. Bruce quickly hides Five as a devastated Selina visits him. She is worried that Ivy is missing and wants Bruce to come with her to look for her. Bruce refuses (since he is dealing with Five). Selina is upset and storms off. Five has been watching them the whole time. It seems he is somehow channeling Bruce. Interesting.

Jervis visits Jim’s apartment and wants to hire him to find his sister. He gives Jim the background story about her poisoned blood condition and how Hugo Strange couldn’t help her. She was at Indian Hill. He will double the usual $5,000 bounty for Jim. He agrees. Jim finds Selina and asks if she has seen Alice. She tells Jim she heard she works at The Narrows bar. Jim tells Selina he will keep an eye out for Ivy. Jim goes to the bar and finds out from the old owners that Alice was the one who started the fire. They get into an altercation and Jim quickly takes care of them.

Penguin meets with James at a restaurant. They argue about who would be better for Gotham. They each have recruited people to join them. Penguin admits that he needs help and has an old friend in mind. I think I know exactly who he is referring to.

Jim stops by the hospital to get stitches in his head. The doctor working on him turns out to be Leslie’s fiancé, Mario. Jim assures him that him and Leslie are old news and wishes them nothing but the best. He tells Mario if he hurts Leslie, he will hunt him down and kill him. It is quite obvious that Jim still has feelings for Leslie. Jim goes to Alice’s apartment and the landlord attacks him. Alice shows up, tells Jim she wants nothing to do with her brother and shoots the landlord. She then lights his body on fire.

Penguin visits Arkham Asylum and tries to bribe the new director into releasing his friend. He tells him that if he becomes Mayor, he will give him any job he wants. If he refuses, he will make sure he is nothing. It comes to no shock that we see Edward being released from Arkham Asylum and being picked up by his old friend, Penguin. A Penguin/Edward alliance could be intriguing and dangerous.

Bruce is sleeping and we notice Five staring at him with a pair of scissors in his hand. He goes to a mirror and cuts his hair to look like Bruce. Alfred/Bruce discover this the next morning and find out he is gone. They know they have to find him.

Jervis is performing another show at the club and using Barbara as his volunteer. He torments her about love and rejection which almost backfires. Barbara has been sensitive about love and rejection lately. Jim visits the club to speak with Jervis. They go to speak privately on the roof. Jervis hypnotizes Jim and tells him to stand on the edge of the roof and he wants him to sleep forever. He begins counting down until Alice arrives with her gun drawn at him. She shoots at him and is able to save Jim from falling off the roof. He cuffs her. Bounty Hunter Jim wants his money.

Leslie and Mario are at dinner and he is telling her about his conversation with Jim. Mario’s father joins them. His father turns out to Carmine Falcone. FALCONE IS BACK! Mario doesn’t publicly use the Falcone name. Leslie seems to be in the middle of it now.

Selina gets a visit from who she thinks is Bruce but it is actually Five. Selina feels something is different about him but agrees to go with Five to eat and search for Ivy. We had madness all over Gotham!
