Michael Douglas dropped a bombshell over the weekend when he revealed that fellow actor Val Kilmer is battling cancer.
The Sun noted that the 72-year-old Douglas, who had his own bout with the disease in 2010, made the revelation during a Q&A in London on Saturday, Oct. 29. Douglas spoke about Kilmer when he was asked about a film they did together in 1996 called The Ghost and the Darkness.
“The picture didn’t turn out as well as I hoped but I had a wonderful time. Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look too good for him,” Douglas said. “My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”
Rumors have been swirling about Kilmer's health since 2015 when it was reported that the Batman Forever star was bleeding from his throat and underwent surgery to remove a tumor. At the time Kilmer downplayed the report and said, “I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the ucla [sic] ICU.”
