Is it really considered a peaceful protest if someone gets arrested? Actress Shailene Woodley was arrested Monday during the Dakota Access Pipeline protest.
On Sunday, Oct. 9, she posted to Instagram "yo, #standingrock. we are on our way."
The "peaceful protest" took place in Sioux County, North Dakota where 100 demonstrators were taken off the construction site in handcuffs.
According to TMZ, Woodley was arrested for criminal trespassing.
E! News noted that The Fault In Our Stars actress shared the entire ordeal on Facebook Live, capturing every moment so people could see what was really going on.
During one point during the live footage Woodley's camera was facing the wrong way, which is when she took the time to clarify exactly what was taking place then.
"I don't know if you guys just heard me, but I was walking back to my RV, which is right there so that we can go back to camp peacefully and they grabbed me by my jacket and said that I was not allowed to continue," she told those watching. "And they had giant guns and batons and zip ties and they're not letting me go."
