Former football player turned baseball player Tim Tebow helped comfort a man who was having a seizure on Tuesday, Oct. 11, after an Arizona Fall League game.
Brandon Berry, a fan at the game, dropped to the ground and began to foam at the mouth as his body convulsed during a seizure. Then his body stopped shaking and went limp.
Tebow, who was signing autographs at the time, ran over to Berry and placed a hand on him and said a prayer, according to ABC News. Berry jolted up, coughed loudly and started gasping for air seconds after Tebow touched him, according to witnesses.
“I just remember just being very disoriented,” Berry told the Associated Press. “Then I saw Tim.”
Tebow stayed with Berry until the EMTs arrived and transported him to an emergency room.
"You just remember what's important," Tebow told ABC News. "Baseball's awesome it's something I'm so excited I get a chance to pursue, but what's important is lives matter, people matter. This young man, he mattered. So my first instinct was to just be with him, put my hands on him and pray for him. We get caught up in so many different things, things that we're pursuing and we forget about what matters most is the people around us."
Witness Daniel Kelly told the AP that a miracle moment happened there.
Tebow signed a minor league deal with the New York Mets last month. Tuesday’s game was his debut as a baseball player. He went 0-3 in his debut.
