Brad Pitt has been cleared of child abuse in the investigation launched last September.

ET reported that the actor was cleared of any type of abuse towards his children by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.

As we reported, the investigation by DCFS began after Pitt and his 15-year-old son, Maddox, allegedly had an incident on the family's private plane on Sept. 14. At the time a source said that Pitt denied abusing his son and was "emphatic that it did not reach the level of physical abuse, that no one was physically harmed."

Although this investigation has wrapped up it still remains to be seen if the Allied star will end up in court with Angelina Jolie over custody of their children once their custody agreement expires. Currently all six kids are in Jolie's custody, but Pitt is seeking joint custody.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the 52-year-old actor made his first public appearance since Jolie filed for divorce and sole custody.
