NBC’s Saturday Night Live is handing the hosting over the keys over to Dave Chappelle this week for the very first time.

It has been announced that Chappelle will make his debut on Nov.12, which happens to be the Saturday after Election Day and should give the funny man some great material.

There's no doubt the comedian is excited and ready to take on the task.

While on the red carpet for SNL’s 40th anniversary episode, Chappelle told The Wrap of the show, “It has been a place for a lot of great entertainers to hone their skills and find a way to bridge the gap between being a nightclub act and entertaining the masses. It has been a hot bed of many, many comedy moments.”

Since his own comedy series Chappelle’s Show ended in 2006 he has been working on several projects including more of his stand-up and one of Spike Lee’s most recent films Chi-Raq.

SNL's cast and crew members are undoubtedly looking forward to him hosting as are his fans who hope to see a lot more him after this appearence.
