It seems that Alice Tetch’s blood is slowly taking total control over Captain Barnes. He is walking home and follows a man into a warehouse where is dissolving body parts. Barnes goes away from his usual “by the book” attitude and he has that crazy look in his eyes as he lunges in rage at the man. The man kept referencing someone called The Toad. I’m sure we will find out who this is.

Leslie and Mario are preparing for the engagement party that Falcone is throwing them tonight. Mario isn’t happy about Jim going back to work at GCPD and being involved in their lives. Leslie tells Mario to trust her. Edward and Isabella are enjoying a nice breakfast before Isabella goes to a work conference. She is wearing glasses that make her look identical to Miss Kringle and this upsets Edward. He rushes to the bathroom where he sees a vision of Miss Kringle. Miss Kringle tells Edward that he is a killer and that it is only a matter of time before Isabella meets the same fate as her.

It is like old times watching Jim and Bullock visit a crime scene. They just so happen to be visiting the warehouse where Barnes did his dirty work last night. They find the body parts slowly dissolving in acid while the other body has been completely ripped apart. They feel like they need to inform Barnes. Little do they know Barnes is quite familiar with what happened here.

Barnes needs answers about what is happening to him so he goes to visit Jervis Tetch at Arkham. Jervis knows Alice’s blood has infected him and tells Barnes the virus will only bring out the darkest part of him. Jervis sees bloody, violent rage inside him and the eventually he will give into the voices.

Jim goes into Leslie’s office for a slightly less awkward interaction discussing his personal life and some information on the latest murder victims. Leslie is also glad he is back with the GCPD. Paulie Pennies was the name of the man dissolving the body parts. Barnes is keeping it together in his office as they go over the case and Barnes wants to take point on the investigation. He is going to follow a lead on felon named “The Toad.”

Edward is afraid to hurt Isabella. Oswald is encouraging a break up but Edward can’t do it. He wants Oswald to do it for him. Oswald happily goes to Isabella’s to deliver her the bad news. Isabella is crushed but isn’t going to let him go. She knows they love each other and she knows that Oswald loves Edward. She has figured it out and Oswald tells her as he leaves that he did warn her. How long will this love triangle in Gotham last?

Barnes is out seeking “The Toad.” He finds him inside a dive bar and after some rough interrogation finds out that Paulie Pennies was getting rid of the bodies for a man named Dr. Simon. He is a plastic surgeon with a side business of giving criminals new faces. Barnes bursts into Simon’s room as he is about to perform a surgery. He starts hearing an increase of the voices and points his gun at Simon.

Lucius is telling Jim/Bullock about the extreme strength it would take to remove Paulie’s head from his body. Barnes is bringing in Dr. Simon and then goes to the solitude of his office. He looks at his gun and his badge. He almost looks he is questioning everything that he has believed in.

The engagement party is underway and Leslie is shocked to see Barbara. She teases Leslie a little bit and asks her if she misses Jim. Leslie denies. Leslie is much more relieved to see Barnes. Barnes also meets Carmine Falcone. They share an interesting exchange as Barnes continues to become more unstable. He continues to hear the voices in his head and the rage builds up as he sees Dr. Simon enter the party.

Edward goes to Isabella’s house and finds her dressed EXACTLY like Miss Kringle. Edward looks terrified and is very afraid. Isabella is making Edward face his far. She truly tests him as she puts his hand around her throat. They triumphantly kiss and it looks like they are going to have a second chance with love.

Jim and Bullock arrive at the engagement party to arrest Dr. Simon. Mario wants to talk to Jim alone while Bullock goes to look for Simon. Mario is very jealous of Jim and wants him to stay away from Leslie. They bicker about her for a minute before Mario punches Jim. Jim lets him get away with one. It appears that yet another love triangle has formed in Gotham City.

Barnes approaches Dr. Simon in the restroom and is seeing red. He doesn’t believe in the law anymore. He believes in judging the guilty and bringing them to justice. He uses his massive strength to shove Simon through the wall and send him falling out of the building. Bullock tells Jim that he can’t find Simon anywhere. Jim is going to leave and runs into Barnes. Barnes lies and covers his tracks and says he couldn’t find Paulie’s murderer. He tells Jim that things are going to change and that they will make a difference.

Edward returns to the mansion telling Oswald the good news about him and Isabella. It seems Oswald has already made his move and we find out that he has cut the brakes in Isabella’s car. We see Isabella driving to her conference and is approaching a railroad crossing. Her brakes fail her and we hear the horrible sound of an accident…

We notice Barnes walking through the party drinking champagne and continues to hear the voices and see distorted faces of people he is deeming “guilty.” Jim is walking outside when he hears a woman’s scream and finds Simon barely alive lying on the top of a car. He asks him who did this to him. “Barnes,” Simon whispers to Jim…
