Making A Murderer subject Brendan Dassey will be spending Thanksgiving with his family as a judge ordered on Monday that he be released from federal prison after 10 years.

The decision to release Dassey came last August after a federal judge in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, overturned his conviction. Prosecutors had 90 days from that date to refile charges or the 26-year-old would be free a man.

Dassey along with his uncle, Steven Avery, were both subjects of the Netflix documentary Making A Murderer. They were sentenced for the rape and murder of Teresa Halbac. Many believe that Dassey, who 16 years old at the time and had a low IQ, was coerced by police into confessing to the murder.

According to the Associated Press, the exact time when Dassey will be released is not known but he has a deadline of Tuesday to provide the federal probation and parole office with the address of where he plans to live.
