Shia LaBeouf has certainly had quite the exciting, yet concerning career path in his 30 years. He was once a beloved childhood star on Even Stevens. Then he became a movie star and now an artist. However, some would argue that he is just a complete jerk.
LeBeouf has been called a lot of names and now he's shown he isn't afraid to talk about it. The American Honey actor sat down and spoke with Josh Horowitz for his segment called "Happy Sad Confused."
These past four years have been filled with strange antics for LaBeouf. He credits these years as "trying to find himself."
"I was questioning my identity and that led me to different projects," he said about becoming an artist. "I began chasing the truth and moved toward business guiding my decisions."
This year is LaBeouf's big comeback. His performance for the recent American Honey has received nothing but great reviews and now he has A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints being released as well as Man Down.
But where would he be without his start. LaBeouf admitted he felt "blessed" to have been cast in Disturbia when Paramount and Dream Works collided. This gave him the opportunity to have been cast in many of his future roles with the companies.
"You respond to your circumstances," he said, adding that his opportunity was "a gift I did not know how to deal with."
He continued to touch on the fact that these roles were less about creativity but more about trust.
