New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony personally made sure one family had a very Merry Christmas this year as he surprised them with a new car and the video of the emotional moment is too good not to share.

Prior to Anthony's game on Christmas Day, the NBA star met 17-year-old Jarell Lara, who is battling a rare form of cancer called Langerhans cell histiocytosis.

The teen has undergone 18 months of chemotherapy treatment and his mother, Anne, was forced to quit her job to care for him. The family now relies on just his father Fernando's pay as a construction worker to cover their expenses including Jarell's medical bills, so for Melo to partner with the Garden of Dreams Foundation for this very special gift meant a lot and the family could not hold back their emotions.

“This is bigger than sports,” Anthony said. “Making a family happy, making a dream come true, giving them a day of happiness.”
