Brad Pitt's request to have court documents regarding his custody battle sealed was denied by a judge on Wednesday.
The Associated Press noted that the actor had asked the court that the filings in his custody battle with Angelina Jolie be sealed, but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Richard J. Burdge Jr. rejected that request.
"I am extremely concerned that if court records regarding custody are not sealed, information contained therein will cause irreparable damage to our children's privacy rights," Pitt wrote in a sworn declaration.
However, Jolie's lawyers disagreed and claimed that Pitt only filed the motion to have the documents sealed in order to stop embarrassing things about him from getting out.
Either way, Burdge ordered that "the filing did not meet the requirements for sealing details at this time."
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September and the estranged couple is now gearing up for a courtroom showdown over the custody of their six children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.
