The most Googled actress of 2016 isn’t Angelina Jolie or Margot Robbie, it's Suits star Meghan Markle.

This isn’t a surprise to some given her now-public romance with Prince Harry. Photos surfaced of the Prince and Markle on a theater date in London on Dec. 14 and following months of speculation, Prince Harry and Kensington Palace confirmed the romance when Meghan was the target of racist and sexist comments.

Kensington Palace noted, “Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her.”

After the Prince released the statement, photos of Meghan sporting a necklace with his and her initials made the relationship status pretty clear.

Then, Prince Harry made a detour to see Meghan in Toronto from the Caribbean, where Harry had toured the seven nations. And let’s not forget the photos of the couple sporting matching bracelets on two separate continents after that trip.

So, is anyone surprised that Meghan Markle beat out Allied‘s Marion Cotillard and Star Wars‘ Daisy Ridley as the most Googled actress?

If 2016 was a big year for Meghan, we can only imagine what 2017 will hold for the actress.
