When Mischa Barton made her exit from Dancing With the Stars last April after only 3 episodes, it was no secret that the former O.C. star had endured several tense weeks with dance partner Artem Chigvintsev.

At the time Barton shared some insights into the tension with E! News, citing the intensity of the training as well as her expectations not being met leading to her frustrations.

"I came straight out of a film, came into this, thought I was going to get this dance training," the actress said.

Months later, Barton is now comparing her experience on the dancing competition to The Hunger Games, telling The Ringer, "It was like The Hunger Games. It was all a popularity contest. It was awful.”

Barton indicated that she had repeatedly declined offers from DWTS until she could have more creative control, help with the costumes and work in a collaborative environment.

That didn’t happen," she said and therefore was glad to be kicked off.
