More actresses are demanding equal pay lately, but Shameless star Emmy Rossum took it one step further.

Not only does Rossum, 30, seek equal pay, she wants more per episode than her co-star, William H. Macy, 66.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the renegotiations for salary could put season 8 on hold for the Showtime show.

Recently, Macy received a raise after renegotiations with Warner Bros. Television. Now, his raise is on par with other actors on cable television shows.

Although at the start of the show Macy, who has had a successful film career including an Oscar nomination, had always earned more than his castmates on Shameless.

However, Rossum has pivotal screen time on the dramedy as Fiona, the matriarch of the family. And this year, for the first time, she directed an episode for the series which aired on Oct. 23.

With Rossum’s renegotiation uncertain, WBTV could proceed with the show without her. Other actors in the show will also be renegotiating their salaries if Rossum receives her raise.

Shameless follows Homeland as the longest running show currently on Showtime.
