There is something Shannen Doherty would like the public to know about cancer and radiation treatment and that is they are not contagious.
Doherty has been battling breast cancer and documenting the ups and downs she's been going through for quite sometime. Now, the actress is describing a very unfortunate incident in which a complete stranger, who apparently thought she could catch cancer or something from the radiation, "lunged away" from her.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum took to Instagram on Thursday with a message for anyone who thinks they can contract cancer by being near someone who has it and is receiving treatment.
“Driving home from radiation with my love @kurtiswarienko Today, we were in an elevator and I was asked how I was feeling. I responded by saying that I had just gotten a radiation treatment so therefore very tired. The random girl on the elevator with us physically lunged away as far as she could. She then proceeded to look horrified for the next 3 floors,” Doherty wrote accompanied by a pic of her and her hubby in the car. “Just a heads up…. 1. You can’t catch it 2. The radiation won’t leak out of me and go into you. Hope that helps #cancertruths from the #cancerslayer.”
Doherty revealed her diagnosis in 2015 and since then has been an inspiration for so many people fighting the same fight.
