WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka passed away from stomach cancer over the weekend. He was 73.

Snuka began his career in 1970 and continued wrestling till 2010. He became wildly popular during his time with the WWF (now WWE) in the '80s. In 1996, he was inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame.

The Fiji native was beloved in his profession, but his personal life was marred by the death of his former girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, who was found unconscious and beaten in a Pennsylvania hotel room in 1983. Argentino was pronounced dead from craniocerebral injuries a short time after she was discovered there.

As The Wrap noted, Snuka was at the scene where she was found but he was not arrested or charged with her death until 2015. He plead not guilty to third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter charges and was ultimately found unfit to stand trial. The charges against him were dismissed on January 3, 2017.

His colleagues and those who knew him well though will remember him for his time in the ring and reacted to the news of his death via social media.
