Dancing With the Stars pro Peta Murgatroyd is debunking that old myth that celebrity mothers can simply bounce back to their pre-baby bodies post baby in no time. And she is proving that is not the case via Instagram.
As we reported, Murgatroyd and fellow dancing pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy welcomed their first child, Shai Aleksander, on Jan. 4 and now the new mom is showing everyone that the baby weight she gained doesn't just go away immediately.
"Real life: I took this photo 8 days post birth," she captioned the pic of herself standing in front of a mirror and showing her belly. "I left the hospital looking 5 months pregnant. Many people think a woman should shrink right back to her pre-birth weight immediately. That is just not the truth for most. The female body is incredible and resilient, but healing and strengthening take time. Now it's time for patience and hard work. Lots of love to all the new mamas out there on the journey."
She added the hashtags "yesihaveascrunchieinmyhair" and "shaiiswortheverypound."
The 30-year-old's post was met with tons of positive feedback from other women who are very happy that Peta was brave enough to share the truth and debunk that old rumor that every mama can just bounce back right away.
