Family and close friends gathered to remember Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, on Thursday, Jan. 5.
People noted that Fisher's daughter, actress Billie Lourd, chose to have a memorial service at the Beverly Hills compound where her mother and grandmother lived next door to one another.
The service was invitation-only and had about 125 guests. Many famous faces were in attendance including Star Wars creator George Lucas, Gwyneth Paltrow, Meryl Streep, Jamie Lee Curtis, Penny Marshall, Meg Ryan, Richard Dreyfuss and Candice Bergen to name a few.
Fisher has reportedly been cremated and on Friday, Reynolds will be buried at the famous Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills with some of her daughter's ashes. The cemetery is the same resting place as many other celebrities like Bette Davis, Paul Walker, Florence Henderson and John Ritter.
As we reported, Fisher passed away at the age of 60 days after suffering a cardiac event on a flight from London to Los Angeles. Her grief-stricken mother died the following day at the age of 84 from a possible stroke.
