Things could get nasty between HGTV stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa.
As we reported, earlier this week, an attorney for Tarek revealed that his client officially filed for divorce from Christina and cited irreconcilable differences as the reason to end their marriage. Now, TMZ is reporting that Tarek is asking for Christina to pay him spousal support and wants a judge to deny any attempt that she may make to request support from him.
“It’s civilized, or as best as it can be under the circumstances,” a source close to the former couple said, adding, “They have to make it work if they want to continue monetizing what they do.”
Tarek and Christina, who were married in 2009 and have two young children together, announced their split in December but actually separated months before that after an altercation with gun last May. They two have been living apart for several months and have been seeing other people. However, they previously said that they do plan on continuing a professional relationship working on Flip or Flop.
HGTV is currently airing episodes of the hit show but has not yet announced future plans for the series.
