Last week, Jane The Virgin returned after its winter hiatus. When we returned to the show, Jane was trying to get on board with Bruce and Xo dating again. However, she was still having a rough time with the news but told Alba and Xo she would try to give it a shot.

At Michael and Jane’s home, Rogelio talked to Michael about what was going on with Darci. Michael used a bee sock pocket to discuss things with Rogelio while also playing with Mateo. Michael is figuring out what to do about work since he is now on desk duty.

Jane takes Mateo to go visit Rafael but he isn’t home. It turns out he left for the police station and Jane goes to see Catalina. She is surprised to find an older gentleman there. His name is Arnaud and he is Catalina’s husband. Catalina reveals it was a spur of the moment wedding and she is getting divorced. Jane, trying not to meddle in anyone’s business, tells her to talk to Rafael.

At the station, Michael informs Rafael that DNA tests showed he was not the son of Emilio and Elena. Rafael begins to wonder his dad knew, but doesn’t have time to ponder since one of the cops comes to ask for him. Michael can’t come since he is now on desk duty.

Later at the suite, Petra accuses Rafael of working with Scott but he denies things. He also claims she is being paranoid.

When Jane gets home, she finds out from Michael he quit his job. Because he could no longer be in the field, he didn’t feel good about himself or the job. Jane supports him in his efforts to look elsewhere for work.

Jane goes to see her mom at the dance studio and sees her in tears with Bruce. Thinking a fight was had between the two, she confronts Bruce and tells him she can’t support the two of them together.

Meanwhile, Rogelio and Darcia are going ahead with their plans for the insemination. They have agreed on everything they need for the contract and are ready. Rogelio tells the family the only thing they didn’t agree on was a name for the girl. Xo is having a hard time getting on board with the idea and Alba mentions they haven’t met Darci. Rogelio thinks it would be a good idea to meet.

Catalina does tell Rafael about the divorce and when he finds out Jane knew about it, he later tells her that he would like to hear it from her next time. Later on the phone with her husband, Jane learns Michael is looking into working at a car dealership. The problem is he doesn’t know cars very well. After they hang up, Jane’s mom comes over and is not happy with her daughter for meddling. It turned out she was only upset because Bruce’s daughter, Tess, wasn’t happy about the relationship because of Xo’s past behavior.

Michael takes an aptitude test to find a job he’d be good at. The first result is for a detective, but there are other promising job prospects. He also tells Jane he does not want to go to the dinner with Xo and Bruce. Jane is fine with this, especially since he’ll be going to the station to say goodbye to his co-workers.

At dinner, Bruce tells Jane that since both he and Xo have worked things out, he feels that their relationship is worth a shot. After dinner, Jane admits to Xo it is hard for her to see how her behavior affected Bruce’s family.

Back at home, Michael tells Jane that he wants to give stand up comedy a try after he saw how everyone at work laughed at his speech during his goodbye party. Jane is unsure of the idea but tries to be supportive.

Jane tells her family about Michael’s idea and tells them he signed up for a comedy club that night. Later, she ends up in trouble with Catalina, who was mad when Jane had decided to tell Rafael she saw her give her husband a friendly kiss. She tells Jane to stop meddling, especially since it’s clear where her priority lies.

At some point, Petra visits her sister, who has a tarot booth. After revealing she believes Scott and Rafael are after her, Petra tells her sister she wants her out of the country.

At the comedy club, Jane and Xo talk about the issues they were facing. Then Darci arrives and things become tense, especially when it’s clear Xo is not supportive and Rogelio had put down on forms he had a supportive family.

Anezka and Scott meet up and he ends up admitting the truth about working with Rafael. When she goes back to the car, we find out it was actually Petra.

It is Michael’s turn on stage but he ends up freezing. Jane goes up to try and help her husband to coax him along. Eventually, he is able to do a routine even if he isn’t the best stand up comic.

Rafael is in his suite thinking of how his father had never seen him as being worth anything. He begins to wonder if his father knew he wasn’t his, especially when he sees an addendum to his will about his money going to his biological children.

Petra confronts Rafael about his deal with Scott, wandering his room before she leaves.

Back at the club, Darci and Xo make amends and Xo tells Rogelio she supports them.

At home, Jane admits to Michael she didn’t think his bit was funny and was just trying to be supportive. Michael distracts her as they begin to have sex.

The next day, Jane gets a call from Alba. Xo and Bruce were supposed to have brunch with his daughter, but she called it off and a big fight ended with an ultimatum. Jane fights against meddling but ends up going to Tess’ work. The two girls have a tense discussion about them not being happy with what was going on but noting that Xo and Bruce were not the same people. The talk ends with Jane buying clothes since Tess works on commission.

Rogelio is preparing for a scene from an indie film and has to do a nude scene. But when he sees Darci, he gets a bit excited. He confesses he has feelings for her.

Xo later talks to Jane about having brunch with Tess and Bruce before telling her daughter to stop meddling. Jane drops Mateo off with Rafael and avoids getting into things regarding Catalina. However, she is unsure when she can’t even get inside to properly say goodbye to Mateo.

Back at home, Michael tells Jane he is thinking of being a lawyer but he would have to go back to school. Jane encourages him to give it a shot.

Meanwhile, Rafael talks to a lawyer about him not being Emilio’s biological son. She encourages him not to tell anyone, which is easier said than done when we see Petra had cameras installed in Rafael’s suite.
