Take a deep breath Harry Potter fans!  JK Rowling has finally revealed who beloved Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore was in love with and it may shock you.

JK Rowling has said in the past that Dumbledore was gay, but she never divulged anything further until now.  And this reveal may affect the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them sequels, as a young Dumbledore is set to appear in them.

Are you ready?  Here is JK Rowling explaining to Elle Magazine how Gellert Grindelwald (yep, the evil predecessor to Voldemort we see in Fantastic Beasts) was Dumbledore's true love.

"Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was.  But, he met someone as brilliant as he was, and rather like Bellatrix he was very drawn to this brilliant person, and horribly, terribly let down by him. Yeah, that's how I always saw Dumbledore."

Did you see that one coming? In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it is revealed that Dumbledore and Grindelwald were childhood friends, as reported by Heat. But, many readers glossed over the fact that there may have been more of a connection between the two.

Still not convinced?  Expect the relationship to be explored in the future Fantastic Beasts sequels.
