Things have gotten pretty ugly in the custody battle between Robin Thicke and Paul Patton over their six-year-old son and now, a judge has just ordered Thicke to stay away from his ex-wife and child.
People reported that the singer's attorney was in court on Thursday, Jan. 26, to request complete temporary sole custody of their son, Julian. That request, however, was denied as Thicke temporarily lost custody and the judge issued a restraining order against him, ordering that he stay away from both Paula and Julian.
The publication obtained the documents of Patton's request for the restraining order. In it, she alleges that Thicke was not only unfaithful to her but also physically abused her during their marriage.
“Paula never reported any domestic violence until she was in a position of contempt by violating the custody orders,” Thicke’s lawyer, Angela Pierce di Donato, said. “Infidelity has nothing to do with custody. She is attempting to throw anything at him to hurt him, but Robin’s focus is their son.”
As we reported, Patton also accused Thicke of abusing their son recently and asked that his joint custody be limited. That previous request was denied.
Of those child abuse allegations Thicke said, “On a very rare occasion and only as a last resort, I will use light spanking, but it is consistent with the law — open hand on the butt. This is the type of discipline to which Paula and I agreed during our marriage.”
