Rogue One: A Star Wars Story continues to be the box office champion after the first weekend of 2017. It remained number one for the fourth weekend in a row by bringing in $22 million.

The film now has grossed $477.2 million after 24 days. It is now just $9 million behind Finding Dory for the highest grossing release of 2016 reports Box Office Mojo.

Hidden Figures came in second place after expanding to wide release and brought in an impressive $21.8 million. The film has received positive reviews from critics which should help the film’s future. Sing fell to third place with $19.6 million and has now passed $200 million domestically.

Underworld: Blood Wars came in fourth place and brought in $13.1 million during its opening weekend. This is the lowest opening of any film in the Underworld franchise. La La Land rises two spots and rounds out the top five with $10 million and has just passed $50 million domestically. The film has been nominated for seven Golden Globes.

Moana brought in $6.4 million and is closing in on $230 million domestically. Passengers just passed $80 million domestically and Fences passes $40 million.

The top ten will look very different next week as we have three wide releases opening as well as three limited releases expanding to wide release including Patriot’s Day, the film based on the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
