Previously on Shadowhunters, Valentine saved Jace from being killed by Jocelyn. Catch up before this week’s episode and find out if Clary can convince him to come back or if irreparable damage been done.

Jace and Valentine portal back to the ship. Valentine tries to convince him that if left unchecked, bloodthirsty Downworlders will be on every street corner in the near future.

Back at the Institute, Clary tells Jocelyn that she’s a monster for trying to murder her own son. Jocelyn says that Valentine injected Jace with demon blood in the womb. She shows Clary a vision of her son killing flowers with his mind. She brought him to Ragnor Fell who told her that Jonathan would only bring destruction. Can it really be Jace?

Lydia collects Simon to be questioned by Aldertree. He wants Simon’s intel. When Simon tries to back out, Aldertree threatens to ban him from seeing Clary.

Alec is upset that Clary failed to bring Jace home. He tells her that she’s caused nothing but trouble since she showed up. He says she doesn’t belong there. Will Clary listen to him and leave?

Valentine steals a martial artist from a match. What is he up to? Lydia tells the Institute that skilled young fighters are disappearing all over the city. Valentine is trying to pick people strong enough to survive becoming Shadowhunters. Aldertree tells Clary she’s a liability and refuses to let her help. Izzy and Alec seemingly leave without her to keep an eye on Circle members.

Later, Izzy comes to Clary in her room and tells her Alec is out of line. Clary says she doesn’t fit in, but Izzy tells her being a Shadowhunter is a blessing.

The werewolves threaten to kill Simon if he gets in their way, no matter what Luke says. He confines himself to the boathouse, but Raphael is there. Simon mentioned his name to Aldertree and now Raphael is being called in to answer for the vampire hive. He wants Simon to bring Camille back to the Hotel du Mort to take the rap. Since she’s Simon’s sire, he should be able to track her.

Valentine asks Jace to lead a mission to capture Downworlders for experimentation. He refuses. The other fighters Valentine caught are willing to help after hearing Valentine’s version of things. Can the Shadowhunters stop them?

Izzy and Alec check out a den of street fighters. It’s only a matter of time before Valentine strikes there. Izzy challenges the top fighter and knocks him out. When Valentine’s man shows up, he kills himself rather than give Izzy and Alec information.

Simon asks Magnus for help finding Camille. Magnus takes some of Simon’s hair in return for a spell.

Clary leaves the Institute without her stele and goes to the Brooklyn Academy of Art. What is she up to?

Jocelyn goes to Luke for help talking to Clary. He’s upset she didn’t tell him about Jonathan’s demon blood, but she says she was trying to protect him. He reminds her how well that went with Clary. Jocelyn says she was afraid of losing him.

Magnus takes Simon to Camille’s house in India. He searches the place for items Camille never returned while Simon looks for her alone. Magnus tells Simon he’s stronger than he thinks.

Luke and Jocelyn try to convince Clary to return to the Institute. She’s upset because she doesn’t belong in either world. After running outside, she finds Dot who pulls her through a portal. Remember, Dot is supposed to be dead!

Dot portals Clary to Valentine’s ship. She shows her visions of the world in flames.

Alec can no longer feel his tie to Jace which increases his determination to find him. Izzy talks him out of some half-cocked plans. Luke gives Jocelyn a stone that will help Alec track Jace through their bond. Alec doesn’t want to work with Jocelyn, fearing she’ll try to kill Jace again, but Izzy talks him into helping.

Simon finds a secret box in Camille’s bedroom. A real snake is guarding it and Simon finds himself locked in the room with it. Can the snake kill vampires? The snake breathes fire at him. Simon screams for Magnus, but manages to tame the snake with Encanto.

Jace attacks Clary, thinking she’s Valentine in disguise again. She proves she’s the real Clary by offering him a memory. She tells Jace she can see the future. The Downworlders slaughter the mundanes. Jace is the only one who can stop it. Valentine tries to convince them to go on the hunt. Jace agrees to go in Clary’s place to keep her safe.

Clary wakes in a cage surrounded by Downworlders. Dot used a spell to get her to do what Valentine wants. She can’t really see the future. Dot tries to dose her with magic again, but Clary talks her down. Valentine has been experimenting on Dot. Clary begs for her help, but she’s scared.

Magnus tells Simon that he can use whatever’s in the secret box to lure Camille back to him, but he doesn’t know how to open it. Magnus offers Simon help in discovering his powers. He was alone when he discovered his own and doesn’t want anyone else to go through that. Finally, there’s someone to help Simon without the threat of death by wolves.

Valentine catches the wolf that threatened Simon. Jace questions if she’s killed an innocent mundane but she denies it. Valentine asks Clary to explain things to Jace, but she tells him to run instead. She’s finally in her right mind.

Jocelyn explains that the stone can kill Alec. Izzy wants to back out, but Alec refuses. Jace fights Valentine’s men. Alec finds him with the stone and then goes into convulsions. Jace weakens at the same time. Dot opens a hole in the wards for Jace and Clary to jump through. They land in the water and Alec collapses. Valentine orders Dot held below and kills the wolf.

Will he torture Dot for her offence? Will the stone kill Alec? We'll find out soon!
