It’s an adventurous and thrilling weekend at the box office. This week’s new releases will keep moviegoers on the edge of their seats as Vin Diesel returns in an all new xXx film.
Extreme sportsman and government agent Xander Cage comes out of retirement in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. This time around, he enlists in the help of a new group of adventure seekers to stop the dangerous Xiang and his indestructible lethal weapon. During their pursuit, they discover that high profile world governments have ties to the deadly warrior. Vin Diesel stars in the PG-13 adventure film alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Conor McGregor, Nina Dobrev and Ice Cube. The action film runs for one hour and forty-seven minutes.
A man with multiple personalities commits vicious crimes in Split. The man with over 23 identities kidnaps and torments three teenage girls. The scared teens hope that an amiable personality will surface and set them free, but a malicious character lurks deep within him. The PG-13 thriller was written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and stars James McAvoy. The horror film runs for one hour and fifty-seven minutes.
A family of criminals is targeted by authorities in Trespass Against Us. As his family is being chased by the law, a man wrestles between staying loyal to his father and giving his children a better life. The limited released thriller stars Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson. The one hour and forty minute action film is rated R for language, disturbing behavior and nudity.
Another film series heads back to the big screen next week. The final installment of Resident Evil hits theaters on Jan. 27. Matthew McConaughey’s latest film Gold and the family film A Dog’s Purpose also debut next weekend.
