Congratulations to NBC's new hit drama This Is Us as the show has been picked up for not only a season 2, but also a season 3!
Each new season will have 18 episodes, which means audiences will have plenty more footage of their beloved Pearson clan to piece together.
This Is Us has been such a success for NBC that a season 2 was almost inevitable. However, many were shocked at the news of its double renewal, revealed yesterday Jan. 18 at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour presentation.
The show is the most buzzed about new drama of the season with phenomenal ratings and critical acclaim.
The new drama received 3 Golden Globe nominations, including a Best Drama nod. This is the first time in 10 years that NBC had a show in that very competitive category, as reported by Variety.
NBC entertainment president Jennifer Salke commented on the show's renewal, as reported by E! News.
"This Is Us is as good as anything we've ever had. We're thrilled to renew it for two seasons and there's no doubt it will have a long life on NBC."
