Bethenny Frankel's ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, has been ordered to stay away from and not contact the former Real Housewives of New York star after she was granted a restraining order following his arrest for allegedly stalking her.
Page Six reported that Hoppy, 46, was arrested last Friday, Jan. 27, in New York after he allegedly showed up at their daughter's school and threatened Frankel.
The former reality star claimed that Hoppy yelled “I will destroy you” at her and has been harassing her and sending her threatening emails for some time.
An NYPD spokesperson said that "The complainant said Hoppy had sent numerous emails and FaceTime calls numbering in the hundreds after a cease and desist letter was sent on Nov. 22, 2016. On Friday, Jan. 27, [Hoppy] approached [Frankel] and a friend at her child’s school at around 8:15 a.m. and tried to provoke a fight."
He was then arrested and charged with harassment in the first degree and stalking in the fourth degree. A judge later granted Frankel a restraining order.
Hoppy has since denied the charges against him.
"There are no words to express how saddened Mr. Hoppy is over his ex-wife’s unjustified actions," his lawyer, Robert C. Gottlieb, told People. "His only concern is his daughter and intends to vigorously fight these false charges."
Bethenny's attorney also issued a statement to People which said, “Ms. Frankel’s decision to report Mr. Hoppy’s abusive behavior followed years of systematic bullying, harassment, stalking and torment on an almost daily basis.”
Hoppy and Frankel were married for two years and share their 6-year-old daughter, Bryn.
