If there's one thing Jon Stewart is good at, it's exposing Washington politics for all it's shortcomings and absurdity, while simultaneously making us laugh. Tuesday night he stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and reminded us how good he is at this.
Donning a ridiculously long red tie and a dead animal strapped to his head, Stewart proceeded to mock Donald Trump by announcing a slew of inane executive orders.
First on the list ... China must ship their great wall over to America's southern border. Clever idea right? And he's found a way to skirt the estimated 15 billion dollar cost of placing a wall there.
"When the wall arrives on the southern border, we shut the lights, we pretend we're not home, it's C.O.D Mexico has to pay for it. Boom. They pay for it. Done." Stewart said channeling his inner Trump.
Next, Stewart continued with a another mock executive order, one that would be popular among the proponents of "alternative facts." It declares that bulls**t is now the official language of the United States. To be honest, this one isn't far off from being the truth already.
His last mock executive order wasn't so much an executive order as it was a monologue reminiscent of the ones Stewart would give during his time as host of The Daily Show. He ends the bit with this important message ...
"And if we do not let Donald Trump exhaust our fight, and somehow come through this presidency calamity-less and constitutionally partially intact, then I, Donald J. Trump, will have demonstrated the greatness of America. Just not the way I thought I was gonna"
Through all his humor and silliness, Stewart always finds a way to deliver poignancy to the audience.
