It's no surprise that Kanye West is making headlines...again. What is a surprise is that the headlines are referring to a Jesus-inspired statue erected in Kanye's likeness.  A street artist has sculpted a gold statue of Kanye depicting Jesus' crucifixion and installed the eyesore on Hollywood Boulevard.

In a phone interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Plastic Jesus (yes, ironically, that is the name of the street artist) indicated the attempt was aimed at the media and the public regarding how they treat West.  He stated, "He's a genius at writing and producing but he's not a God, and that's where we put him. Until there's an issue in his life or a hiccup in his career, then we crucify him."

According to Spin, the sculpture will be on display on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue in L.A., conveniently near the Dolby Theatre, where the Oscars will take place on Sunday.
