Saturday Night Live hit a homerun when they cast Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump, but their latest sketch with Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer has the Internet freaking out!

McCarthy gave an outstanding performance on SNL last week as the White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer and it's meeting rave reviews all over social media.

McCarthy's impression of Spicer was an over-the-top, brutally honest, yet hilarious portrayal that makes light of this otherwise dark age of politics. The hot-headed Spicer is known for avoiding questions, using alternative facts and negating remarks made by journalists. McCarthy nailed all of that and even got right down to Spicer's obsessive gum-chewing habit in which the comedian downed an entire package in a glutinous manner.

McCarthy's sketch also involved dismissing all the questions asked by journalists, one of whom is Kristen Stewart who hosted the show that night, in funny attempts where she yells at them and provides alternative facts and resorts to name-calling. She even squirts one reporter with a super-soaker gun, uses stuffed puppets to explain Trump's Muslim ban-(it's not a ban, as McCarthy's Spicer puts it) and even picks up her podium and uses it like a shield against another reporter.

Twitter is blowing up over McCarthy's impression. One Twitter user wrote, "melissa mccarthy did not play sean spicer.  SHE BECAME SEAN SPICER."

Another user Tweeted, "I think 2017 actually started when Melissa McCarthy became Sean Spicer #SNL #nbcsnl."

But not everyone was tickled by McCarthy's impression. The real Spicer told Extra during the Super Bowl he felt she "could dial back" on her acting and that "she needs to slow down on the chewing gum: way to many pieces there.. Spicer also wasn't the least bit amused by Baldwin's portrayal of Trump that night either, calling it "mean. So it's safe to say SNL hasn't found a fan in the White House Press Secretary. At least McCarthy's performance gave us something to smile about.
