Major spoiler alert! At least one series regular on Grey‘s Anatomy will not be returning in the fall.  Want to know who?  Read on for the details or stop here if you don’t want it to be spoiled!

Jerrika Hinton, who plays the role of Dr. Stephanie Edwards, will be written out of the show, starting with the return of season 14 later this year, as reported by TV Line.

Hinton, 35, has been on the show since season nine in 2012.  She originally booked a new Shonda Rimes comedy pilot called Toast, but that show did not get picked up.  Instead, you can find Hinton on HBO. She will be in a new show about a “family raising a mix of biological and adopted children who are tested when one child begins seeing things that no one else in the family can see.”

The untitled show is set to premiere some time in 2017, as reported by the Daily Mail.

There is no word on how Hinton will be written out of Grey’s and if it will allow the star to make a return or not.

Grey’s Anatomy has not officially been picked up for a season 14, but it is highly likely that it will and now we know Hinton will not be a part of it.

The departure of Dr. Stephanie Edwards marks the third high profile character to leave the ABC drama, joining Patrick Dempsey’s character Dr. Derek Shepherd and Sara Ramirez’s Dr. Callie Torres.

Grey’s Anatomy airs every Thursday on ABC at 8 pm.
