Being remembered as the star of a mega TV show that defined a generation of fans can be rough sometimes. That was especially true when James Van Der Beek appeared on a talk show and the hosts decided to list all the accomplishments of his former co-stars since the show ended, but failed to mention any of his.

The hosts of the British show This Morning rattled off the actor's Dawson's Creek cast mates' achievements post working on the hit show. They described Katie Holmes as a leading Hollywood actress now, mentioned Michelle Williams' three Oscar nods and discussed Joshua Jackson's being on The Affair, but acted as if Van Der Beek has been totally out of the spotlight and hasn't done anything after Dawson's Creek concluded.

“But what happened to the main man himself, Mr. James Van Der Beek?” anchor Phillip Schofield asked. “He’s here now and that’s what he looks like.”

The camera then panned to a stone-faced Van Der Beek, who clearly wasn't happy that his projects were excluded after his co-stars' were highlighted.

“I have been on television the last 20 years, just to let you know,” the actor broke in after Scholfield's introduction.

“We know that, but it worked better as a link,” Schofield said laughing. “You have been very busy! When we were looking back at the information on Dawson’s Creek, I mean, you played a 15-year-old, but you were 20, weren’t you?”

Van Der Beek looked uncomfortable with the question and responded, “From what I remember. It was a long time ago, yeah.”

The host didn't shy away from the Dawson's Creek talk even then so Van Der Beek stayed professional and went with it by stating, “It changed my life, it was a huge opportunity. I learned how to be on camera, how to deal with celebrity, how to deal with all kinds of things. It was a huge break. I wouldn’t change anything I just, [laughs] … they were, like, playing the music backstage … I was like, ‘What year is it?’”

The hosts promised that the next time he's on they won't do the entire Dawson's Creek fiasco again but judging by the way this interview went, Van Der Beek may not appear on their show ever again.
