While Natalie Portman did decline to go to the 2017 Oscars, many thought it was because she was about to give birth.

It turns out the 35-year-old already gave birth four days prior to the 89th Academy Awards ceremony that took place on Feb. 26.

The Jackie actress and her hubby Benjamin Millepied welcomed their daughter on Feb. 22.

Portman's rep released this statement: “Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied welcomed a baby girl, Amalia Millepied, on February 22. Mother and baby are happy and healthy.”

Portman was up against Emma Stone for the Best Actress category for her work in Jackie, but Stone took home the Oscar for La La Land.

Although Portman did not attend this year's Oscars, she did partake in host Jimmy Kimmel's hilarious  “Mean Tweets” segment that was pre-recorded.

The day prior to the Oscars, Portman had already released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that she was not able to attend the Independent Spirit Awards and the Oscars.

“I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends,” she stated.

TheCelebrityCafe.com reported back in September that the actress was expecting baby number two with Millepied, whom she met on the set of Black Swan.

Congratulations are in order to Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied on the happy news!
