Two days after learning of the death of actress Erin Moran, her likely cause of death has been revealed by authorities.

WDRB News obtained a copy of a statement that was released by the Harrison County Coroner. In the statement, an autopsy revealed Moran’s cause of death was due to “complications of Stage 4 cancer.”

The statement also revealed toxicology tests had been performed and while results were not known at the time, there were no narcotics found at her home where she died.

When news of her death spread, Moran’s co-stars and fellow actors paid tribute to the star. Scott Baio, who played her love interest on Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi, wrote “May people remember Erin for her contagious smile, warm heart and animal loving soul.”

People reported that Henry Winkler continued his condolences, remembering his first meeting with her when she was nine. He said, “I will always remember Erin with her sweet smile that greeted me on the very first day I walked onto the set of Happy Days in 1974. She was only nine years old. For the next ten years that smile never faded.”
