It took a few months, but Bob Dylan finally accepted the Nobel prize he won for literature.

BBC reported Dylan was in Stockholm, Sweden for a concert and accepted his medal during a private event. Officials for the Swedish Academy had said before he was not going to deliver a lecture.

However, there is an expectation he will send in a taped lecture, which he is required to do before June or he will end up forfeiting his prize money.

The Associated Press was informed by an official with the Academy that everything “went very well indeed.” He referred to the singer as “a very nice, kind man.”

Dylan had requested that there be no media present during the acceptance. Afterwards, he performed a concert on April 1. He won the Nobel Prize “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
