Chrissy Teigen helped to make one woman's beauty school ambitions come true by taking the time to pay off her tuition. It was unreal, unexpected and extremely generous.
Mercedes Edney who is from Charlotte, North Carolina, began an online fundraiser with a goal of raising money for esthetician school, which ran under $6,000. According to NBC News, Edney raised roughly $300 by herself on Friday, April 7.
In a surprise move she was not expecting, the famous model paid for the rest of her tuition, which aided Edney in reaching her goal.
According to The Huffington Post, in 2012, Edney used her chemical engineering background and founded Ixora Botanical Beauty. As she began to create her own product line of skincare products, she used tips that were given to her by family throughout her life.
On her Twitter, she shared that she wanted to "keep improving [her] own skin and help others with theirs."
Because of this dedication and motivation, Teigen was inspired.
"I've seen this be your passion for such a long time now," Teigen wrote in a note that came with her donation. She continued by writing, "So excited to see you fulfill your dream."
At first, Edney did not believe it really happened and thought there had been an issue with PayPal.
"I was at work, and I heard my PayPal alert go off," Edney shard. "I saw the amount and said, 'What the hell? What's wrong with my PayPal?' I thought it was a glitch."
After she realized the star actually made the donation, she tweeted to Teigen to thank her.
Teigen even responded with heart emojis and said, "I'm really excited for you to live out your passion."
There were a series of tweets that followed Edney's excitement, elation and disbelief that this was truly happening. She said if she were to meet Teigen in person, she would give the star "the biggest hug on earth."
And if you think about it, this could happen sometime soon.
Although there are a lot of reasons to love her, one of the most important reasons why we love Teigen is because she gives back to people.
