April is National Car Care Month and what better way to kick off the spring than make sure your trusty vehicle is in tip-top shape. Courtney Hansen, car expert and star of Spike TV’s Overhaulin’ has some expert tips that anyone and I mean anyone—working moms, teens and even men, who are embarrassed to admit that they don’t know much about cars, can do themselves to improve their vehicle.

Hansen grew up around cars.  Her dad is race car driver Jerry Hansen, a 27-time Sports Car Club of America national racing champion.  Her family also owned the Brainerd International Raceway in Orono, Minnesota, so she spent a lot of time in the pits.  She is a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in marketing.  This former fashion and fitness model is the author of The Garage Girl’s Guide to Everything You Need to Know about Your Car. Hansen also hosted PowerNation on NBC Sports, Spike TV and CBS Sports TV.  She also has written a syndicated column called “Courtney Hansen:  Full Throttle” since 2005.

The working mom and car expert, in conjunction with Toyo Tires  spoke with TheCelebrityCafe.com and demonstrated how to check tire pressure and explain the penny test, how to change wiper blades, discussed items one should always keep in their emergency kit, offered tips on what to use to help keep your car neat and clean, as well as discussed her upcoming show Botched Ride that will air on Velocity this summer and more.
