High school junior, Jacob Staudenmaier, re-created the opening scene of La La Land to ask the apple of his eye, Emma Stone, to attend his prom with him and the 17-year-old got an answer from the actress on Friday.
For his promposal, all Staudenmaier needed was a couple of cars to make it look like he was in a traffic jam. So, this creative young lad reworked the words to the movie's opening number "Another Day of Sun."
"People say I look like Ryan Gosling and maybe that's a bit far-fetched," he sang, decked out in a tux and shades. "Please don't let me down, it being in your hometown."
He posted a video of his promposal on his personal Twitter account.
Staudenmaier's prom is being held on April 29, in Phoenix, Arizona, and he's willing to treat the actress to pasta at Olive Garden prior to attending the main event.
On Friday, Staudenmaier appeared on Good Morning America where he read a letter he received from Stone with her response.
She said his stunt was "the greatest proposal [she's] ever received."
"I can't tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled throughout that beautiful orchestrated video," Stone wrote. "I'm in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom and I'm grateful you thought of me."
Even though the actress can't attend, she did have words of love for the high schooler.
"Thank you," she continued. "And P.S., I do see Gosling around the eyes."
