It looks like the host of one of the top-rated cable news shows is in need of a new job after Fox News reportedly showed him the door amid swirling sexual harassment allegations.
Several media outlets are reporting that O'Reilly, of the popular The O'Reilly Factor show on the Fox News Channel, is out at the network.
Pressure had been mounting that the station cut ties with their long time political commentator following multiple allegations of sexual harassment and reports earlier this month that O'Reilly and Fox paid five women $13 million to settle the harassment claims.
Marc Kasowitz, O'Reilly's lawyer, said in a statement that his client " has been subjected to a brutal campaign of character assassination that is unprecedented in post-McCarthyist America."
But advertisers decided to distance themselves from O'Reilly and his show. BMW of North America, Allstate Corp, French pharmaceuticals maker Sanofi SA and T. Rowe Price all pulled their ads from that primetime slot. Now, more than 50 sponsors have withdrawn their ads.
Amid the controversy, President Donald Trump defended his friend on Twitter and in interviews saying he didn't think O'Reilly did anything wrong. Apparently though, that wasn't enough as O'Reilly's exit from Fox seems imminent.
